A GLOBAL COMPETITION IN BOWLING! Bowlers from around the world will be placed into two groups with 4 stages of competition to become the PBA Global Showdown Champion. This competition is open to all bowling centers worldwide that have Lanetalk enabled and bowlers will have the chance to compete for a $50,000 prize fund sponsored by the PBA.

When a bowler’s local bowling center is registered for the competition, the bowler can open the Lanetalk App (search for Lanetalk in the AppStore / Google Play if you do not already have the App) and then enter and participate in the competition by clicking on "Matches" and then "PBA Global Showdown.” The competition will be visible in the app starting 09/20/21.

Bowlers all over the world will be randomly placed in one of the two groups and will compete during the Qualifying Round to place in the top 2500 of their group. 

  • Qualifying Round_September 20 - October 10 
    • Bowlers have 14 days to try to place in the top 2500 of their group which qualifies them for the Quarterfinals. During these 14 days, the bowlers have unlimited attempts to submit their best 2 game score. Once signed in, bowlers bowl 2 consecutive games and their scores are recorded in the Lanetalk app and submitted into the tournament. If they’re not satisfied with their score, they can start a new game! They’ll just have to sync their scores before the 3rd frame when starting a new attempt.
  • Quarterfinals_October 13 – October 26
    • Bowlers have 14 days to try to place in the top 1000 bowlers in the Quarterfinals which qualifies them for the Semi-finals. During these 14 days, bowlers have unlimited attempts to submit their best 2 game score. Once signed in, bowlers bowl 2 consecutive games and their scores are recorded in the Lanetalk app and submitted into the tournament. If they’re not satisfied with their score, they can start a new game! They’ll just have to sync their scores before the 3rd frame when starting a new attempt.
  • Semi-Finals_October 29 - November 4
    • Bowlers have 7 days to try to place in the top 6 bowlers in the Semi-Finals. During these 7 days, the bowlers have unlimited attempts to submit their best 2 game score. Once signed in, bowlers bowl 2 consecutive games and their scores will be recorded in the Lanetalk app and submitted into the tournament. If they’re not satisfied with their score, they can start a new game! They’ll just have sync their scores before the 3rd frame when starting a new attempt.
  •  Grand Finale – November 14
    • The final part of the competition consists of the top 6 bowlers from the Semi-Finals who advanced into the Grand Finale. The Finale will be live streamed on November 7th from each of the bowlers’ home centers. The bowlers will have one attempt to submit a single game score. The top 4 bowlers will advance and have one attempt to submit a single game score. The top 2 bowlers will then advance and have one attempt to submit a single game score. The bowler with the best score will be crowned the PBA Global Showdown Champion.

Once signed in, bowl 2 consecutive games, and your scores will be recorded in Lanetalk and submitted into the tournament. If you're not satisfied with your score, you can start a new game! You'll just have to start syncing your scores (step 2) before Frame 3 when starting a new attempt.

Log onto the Lanetalk app, click play, select the “PBA Global Showdown”, and select Leaderboard. The leaderboards can also be found at PBA.com/Showdown during the tournament.

Bowlers will compete for a $50,000 prize fund sponsored by the PBA with first place awarded $20,000. There will also be additional prizes from Motiv and KR Strikeforce such as bowling balls and other equipment items.

We have over 700 US and International bowling centers participating in the tournament.
