Eight Finalists Head to Thunderbowl for 2025 PBA LBC National Championships Clash
This Saturday, the eight division champions of this summer’s PBA LBC National Championships will compete for The Duke, the most unique trophy in bowling.
Among the competitors are former PBA Player of the Year Andrew Anderson, six-time PWBA Tour champion Stephanie Zavala and PBA Hall of Famer Chris Barnes.
Attendance is free for the PBA LBC National Championships Clash at Strobl Arena inside Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Mich. The event will air live on the PBA’s YouTube channel as well.
This year’s finalists will compete in a four-game seeding round (1 p.m. Eastern on Sept. 27) to determine the order for the one-ball eliminator finals (5 p.m. ET).
In the seeding round, each player will bowl four full games. The player with the highest four-game total pinfall, including handicap, will choose where they want to be slotted for the Clash. The player with the second-highest score chooses next, and so on until the lowest-scoring player receives the remaining position in the lineup. Ties in the seeding round will be broken by the high handicap game (with a max score of 300).
In the one-ball eliminator finals, each player will throw a single shot, in the order determined by the seeding round. The player with the lowest pinfall will be eliminated. No handicap will be included. Ties will be broken through a one-shot roll-off. The process repeats each round until a champion is crowned.
Two years ago, Tom Daugherty survived the one-ball eliminator format to win the inaugural Clash. Seventeen-year-old Gianna Brandolino outlasted the field to bring home The Duke in 2024.
