Timo Raatikainen Leading Super Senior Classic
Las Vegas, Nevada – For the second straight day at the 2025 USBC Super Senior Classic an international bowler is leading the way. On the final day of qualifying, Finland’s Timo Raatikainen posted the highest six-game block of the tournament to go from fifth to first place.
He shot 253, 193, 300, 226, 279 and 277 for 1,528, an average of 254.67 on Friday. He rolled the only perfect game so far, which helped him earn a 105-pin lead over Day 1 qualifying leader Carlos Denot. Denot, from Mexico, dropped one spot to second place after shooting 1,396. Overall, he is at +422.
Two-time Super Senior Classic winner and Las Vegas resident Ron Mohr is in third place at +337 followed closely by Pete Weber at +334. Weber jumped from 30th place to fourth and Parker Bohn III is fifth at +329 inside Sam’s Town Bowling Center. Walter Ray Williams Jr. was the final player in at +117, averaging 209.75 for qualifying. Last year’s tournament winner Jack Jurek finished in 55th place.
The top 52 players will bowl six-games in the casher’s round on Saturday starting at noon Eastern with total pinfall for 18 games to determine the top 12. They will then be split into two match-play groups. Group 1 will include the odd seeded bowlers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11) as Group 2 will be the even seeds. They will bowl six head-to-head matches within their group starting at 6 p.m. ET, ending with a final position round. Thirty bonus points go to the winners of each match.
The highest score with bonus pins in each group will earn automatic spots in Sunday’s stepladder finals. The player with the most overall total pins will be the No. 1 seed. Those players in third and fourth within each group will bowl one game head-to-head. The winner will then bowl the player in second. Those final two winners will take on each other in the first match of the stepladder finals, scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday. Enjoy all of the action on BowlTV.
