Bowlers of all skill levels can compete in the world’s largest virtual bowling tournament for a chance to win $50,000 in cash and prizes

New York, NY – The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) and Lanetalk’s global bowling tournament – PBA Global Showdown powered by Lanetalk –  begins today at over 700 bowling centers across over 30 countries around the world.

This international tournament brings thousands of bowlers together to compete from their local centers for a chance to win a first-place prize of $20,000 out of a $50,000 prize fund, sponsored by the PBA. Bowlers can also win prizes throughout the tournament from Motiv and KR Strikeforce.

Bowlers of all skill levels ages 18+ are eligible to join the competition for free and virtually face-off at a large selection of participating host centers equipped with Lanetalk. A full list of registered host centers is available at pba.com/showdown and will be updated as new centers join the Showdown.

The tournament, hosted on the Lanetalk app, will feature four stages of the competition with bowlers from the United States and abroad placed within two groups. The stages are as follows starting with the Qualifying Round.

Stage 1: Qualifying Round (September 20-October 10)

Bowlers will have 21 days to bowl their best two consecutive games. Scores must be submitted through the Lanetalk app. During these three weeks, bowlers will have unlimited attempts. The top 2,500 bowlers in each group (5,000 altogether) will advance to the Quarterfinals.

Stage 2: Quarterfinals (October 13-October 26)

The top 5,000 bowlers will have 14 days to bowl their best two consecutive games. Scores must be submitted through the Lanetalk app. During these two weeks, bowlers will have unlimited attempts. The top 1,000 bowlers will advance to the Semi-Finals.

Stage 3: Semi-Finals (October 29-November 4)

The top 1,000 bowlers will have seven days to bowl their best two consecutive games. Scores must be submitted through the Lanetalk app. During these seven days, bowlers have unlimited attempts. The top six bowlers will advance to the Grand Finale.

Stage 4: Grand Finale (November 14)

The final six bowlers will compete in a live-streamed event on November 14th from their local host bowling center. The bowlers will have one attempt to submit a single game score. The four bowlers with the highest scores will advance and have another attempt to submit a single game score. The two bowlers with the highest scores will advance and have one final attempt to submit a single game score.  The bowler with the best score will be crowned the PBA Global Showdown Champion winning the first-place prize of $20,000.
