Dickinson In Hometown Triumph
To the delight of a noisy home-town crowd lanky Gary Dickinson waltzed off with the $37,500 Ft. Worth Open at Meadowbrook Lanes.
Winner of only one (Don Carter Classic last January) previous test, Dickinson performed to near-perfection as he rolled to a 227-pin margin over second-place Bobby Cooper, and Bob McGregor, who finished third.
Dickinson faltered only once in match play when Earl Anthony held a three-pin margin for one game. Dickinson came back with winning games of 245 and 246 to regain the lead and was never headed.
