DON JOHNSON found the going all up hill in the Seattle Open but finished with a 34-pin margin over Pete Tountas to claim his first pro-tour win of the season.
Johnson, who now has finished first-third-first in the last three years of the Seattle tourney, registered a 12-4 record in match play but didn't overtake the leaders until the 36th game of the 40-game test. He had a 116-pin lead going into the final game and needed it as he lost his last match, 223-192, to Tountas. Tountas finished second and Ed Bourdase grabbed third place.
