Tom Clark - PBA Commissioner

Tom Clark has been CEO and Commissioner of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) since 2013. He was PBA Commissioner from 2011-2013 and PBA Deputy Commissioner, 2008-2011.

Clark was United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Chief Marketing Officer 2007-2008, and USBC Vice President of Communications 2005-2007.

Prior to coming to the bowling industry, Clark worked in mainstream media, notably as a sportswriter and editor at USA TODAY from 2000-2005, and executive editor of daily newspapers in Virginia and North Carolina.

Clark is a member of the board of trustees for the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame (IBMHOF), and former board member of the International Bowling Media Association (IBMA).

Clark was named Bowling and Billiards Institute of America (BBIA) Industry Service Award winner in 2008, Bowlers Journal Person of the Year in bowling for 2005 and was presented the USBC Trailblazer Award in 2009.

Clark has created many events including the PBA World Series of Bowling, the CP3 (Chris Paul) PBA Celebrity Invitational, ESPN King of Bowling, PBA Women’s Series and Bowling’s Clash of Champions. He has developed media products such as PBA Xtra Frame, brought innovations to the PBA such as dye-sublimated player jerseys and visible lane oil and built a PBA-World Bowling relationship to help fortify bowling’s effort to be in the Olympics. Clark is the first Commissioner of the PBA League.

Clark is from Syracuse, NY, bowled collegiately at Buffalo State College, has resided in Virginia and North Carolina and currently lives in Milwaukee.

Kirk von Krueger - Deputy Commissioner

Kirk von Krueger became PBA Deputy Commissioner on Nov. 1, 2011 after 16 years of experience with the organization in several tournament administration positions.

A former PBA member and Tour player, von Krueger joined the organization in 1982 and was a regular on the regional circuit where he won six titles and was a former Western Region Player of the Year. He competed on the PBA Tour from 1992-95 where had a best finish of third.

In 1995, he joined PBA as Assistant Tournament Director and a year later became Tournament Director. In 2002, he became Director of the PBA Tour and was later promoted to the position of Vice President and Director of PBA Tours in 2009.

Von Krueger served in the Navy from 1971-92 as an air traffic controller. In 1975 he was the all-Navy Bowling Champion.

He and wife Mary have four grown children. They reside in the Pensacola, Fla., area.

Rob Glaser - Board Member

Rob Glaser is founder and Chief Executive Officer of RealNetworks, Inc. (Nasdaq: RNWK), the recognized leader in Internet media delivery. Since 1995, RealNetworks has pioneered streaming media delivery over the Internet through its standards-setting RealAudio, RealVideo, RealPlayer and RealSystem products. In 1999, the company extended its leadership to the rapidly expanding sphere of digital music distribution with the launch of RealJukebox. These products are used by over 200 million people worldwide.

Glaser is also an avid lifelong bowler. He first bowled in leagues during his high school years in Yonkers, NY. After moving to Seattle to join Microsoft, he was a member of a local bowling team called the Mainframes. In 1999, RealNetworks moved into its current headquarters in downtown Seattle. In appreciation for the great work and achievements of RealNetworks' staff, Glaser personally donated funds for a two-lane bowling alley, which was placed in the renovated building's basement.

Prior to founding RealNetworks, Glaser worked for Microsoft from 1983 to 1993. Glaser also serves on several influential non-profit boards and committees. Mr. Glaser also holds a minority interest in Seattle's professional baseball team, the Mariners.

Mr. Glaser has a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Computer Science from Yale University.

Mike Slade - Board Member

Mike Slade has always been interested in two things: sports and high technology. He is one of the four founding partners of Second Avenue Partners, a Seattle-based investment firm.

After selling the company to Disney, Slade retired as chairman and chief executive officer of Starwave Corp., Paul Allen's trailblazing venture into the Internet and multimedia products arena. Utilizing his high-technology and marketing skills, Slade launched,,, and the network, among other premier websites that have now become household names. Slade joined Starwave in 1993 after briefly serving as vice president of special projects for Asymetrix Corp., where he evaluated business opportunities for Paul Allen.

Slade began his career at Microsoft in 1983 and spent seven years there in a variety of product marketing roles. He served as director of corporate marketing in Microsoft's systems software division before leaving in 1990. He also served as VP-Marketing for Steve Jobs' NeXT Computer, Inc, and now spends time consulting with Jobs on strategy issues at Apple. Slade serves on the board of He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado College and earned a master's degree in business administration from Stanford University.

Steve Bornstein - Board Member

Steve Bornstein, one of the most influential sports and entertainment media executives of the last quarter century, joined the PBA Board of Directors in May 2015.

Bornstein played a major role in shaping the growth and success of ESPN and the National Football League. His career began as program coordinator for ESPN in 1980 and 10 years later, he was named ESPN President and CEO. He will lend his visionary expertise in areas of marketing and deal-making to the PBA at a time when the professional bowling organization is experiencing unprecedented growth in television viewership and international multi-media awareness.

Bornstein was President and CEO of the NFL Network from 2003 until 2013, teamed up with Jim Valvano to start The V Foundation for Cancer Research while president of ESPN, Inc. in 1993, and served as President of ABC Inc. After becoming ESPN, Inc.’s youngest President and CEO in 1990, Bornstein led the company through a nine-year period of network development and brand extension which included the launches of ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPN Classic, ESPN Radio and the Internet’s first sports website, This spurred a global expansion of the company to numerous countries in their respective languages. Through this initiative, ESPN, Inc. further established itself as “The Worldwide Leader in Sports.”

A native of Fair Lawn, N.J., and a 1974 University of Wisconsin graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in film, Bornstein resides in New York and Los Angeles.
