Las Vegas, Nevada – The first day of double-elimination match-play at the 2026 USBC Senior Masters on Friday was filled with upsets and a couple of perfect games. 

Two of the top bowlers during qualifying, #1 Mike Machuga and #4 Andy Neuer are out of the tournament after suffering two losses. The next two highest seeded players still in contention are #2 Anthony Crews and #3 Chris Warren. They both went undefeated on the right side of the winner’s bracket. 

Crews began his day with his third perfect game of the week. The Florida resident shot 740 and 716 and he will face #15 Brian Hoffman on Saturday. Additional matches within that bracket are #3 Chris Warren against #14 Chris Hibbitts. Sam Ventura, who is #54, will face #6 Troy Lint. Lint had the hot hand of the day shooting 763 and 803. Amleto Monacelli, who is #58, takes on #23 Randy Weiss.

On the left side of the winner’s bracket #32 seed Jason Couch will face #16 Robert Reed. Clay Rees, who is #41, will take on #40 Dan Patterson. Fifth seed Don Smith will face off against #12 Mika Koivuniemi, and #45 Tony Franklin will take on #29 Dan Knowlton. 

Defending champion #20 Tom Daugherty barely lost in his first match to #45 Tony Franklin 691-686. Daugherty then won his next two matches with 745 and 713. He will take on #53 Pete Dohan Jr. 

Other contender’s in the elimination bracket matches on Saturday are #46 Rolando Sebelen vs. #43 Jon Rakoski, #48 Jeffrey Cambell vs. #38 Jair Dartora, #10 Chris Barnes vs. #45 Tony Ruth, #17 Steve Harman vs. #9 Parker Bohn III, #64 Kevin Jenkins vs. #11 John Marsala, #39 Don Hogue vs. #31 Dino Castillo, #55 Ricky Schissler vs. #18 Rick Benard. Along with Crews, Sebelen was the other player to roll a 300.

There are 16 players left in the winner’s bracket and 16 players in the elimination bracket. They will all begin at noon Eastern on Saturday in Sam’s Town Bowling Center followed by more bowling throughout the day. All bracket matches are three-game total-pinfall with the winners advancing until the top five are determined for the stepladder finals that will take place at 1 p.m. Eastern on Sunday.
