Norfolk, Virginia – Day two of qualifying in the 2026 PBA50 Norfolk Classic featured John Janawicz adding onto his lead. Despite a lower scoring pace than he had on Tuesday, Janawicz still averaged over 240 for seven games on Wednesday. He shot 203, 247, 199, 275, 269, 279 and 221 for a 14-game total of 3,512.

“I feel like I bowled pretty well. They hooked a little more today, which kind of surprised me. Usually, it is the other way around,” Janawicz said. “I had to use more angle through the front. In Game 3, (the lanes) transitioned but I figured it out after that.”

After his block, Janawicz took a peek at what equipment was available on the PBA truck to see if anything sparked an idea. He estimates he might need to change the surfaces a little bit on a few balls, so he is prepared to come out strong on the fresh 38-foot oil pattern on Thursday.

“I want to make sure that I am fine-tuned for the rest of the way,” Janawicz said.

Parker Bohn III moved up to second place on Wednesday. He has yet to have a game under 200 with 3,346 overall, yet he is 166 pins behind Janawicz. Tom Hess rolled a perfect game on day one and another on day two. He and Andres Gomez are tied with 3,311. Gomez averaged 251 to earn the highest block of the day with 1,757. Jon Rakoski rounds out the top five with 3,290.

Ricky Schissler was the cut number at 3,139 (+339) in 26th place. They will all bowl four games in the Advancers Round at 9 a.m. Eastern on Thursday. The top 24 will move into bracket match play best-of-three matches beginning with Qualifiers 9-24 starting at 12:30 p.m.

Winners of those matches and the top eight bowl the Round of 16. The winners will keep advancing and the highest eliminated player in the Round of 8 will be the fifth seed in the stepladder finals scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET. Follow the final day of the Norfolk Classic only on BowlTV.
