Columbus, Ohio – Jack Jurek is having a very solid season and run in the 2026 PBA60 World Series of Bowling II. On Saturday, he won the Webb Championship over Amleto Monacelli. In the Roth Championship, he shot 761 for his three games in the stepladder finals on Monday to finish in third place. On Tuesday, he posted a 7-5 match play record to move into first place at the World Championship.

Coming into the event, Jurek was hoping for a good showing as the defending champion. He has achieved that and a lot more.

“The goal I set out was to make a better defense and no matter what happens, I have made a much better defense. The rest for the most part is keep riding the wave and try to throw it good for one more day,” Jurek said. “I think the last time I really felt this good was probably the very first PBA World Series in 2009 in Detroit. That was a stretch where I got my second regular title after 15 years.”

Jurek is the only player to make the first two stepladder finals at the WSOB II, and he is six games closer to making another show. Yet, with 30 bonus pins awarded for each head-to-head winner in round-robin match play, there are only 87 pins between Jurek in first place and Brian LeClair in fifth.

Jurek has already bowled 47 games since Friday. He averaged 217.8 on Tuesday with blocks of 1,351 and 1,263.

“I felt like I never really had any big games at all. (I was) fortunate to win seven out of 12, so that helped. I didn’t really have any bad ones either,” Jurek said. “I think overall for the most part, I have been throwing it good so far. It has carried over.”

Amleto Monacelli used a 7-5 record to move into second place. He shot blocks of 1,379 and 1,254 sitting just seven pins behind Jurek. Larry Verble also went 7-5 on the day with blocks of 1,452 and 1,202 to find himself six pins behind Monacelli. Pete Weber, who won the Roth Championship, is fourth and 37 pins behind Jurek, while Brian LeClair is in fifth. LeClair jumped from 10th to fifth.

The best match-play record of 9-3 belongs to Ricky Schissler who is 42 pins out of fifth place. He started his Tuesday in 14th place. The final six games of round-robin match play will begin at 2 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday to determine the top five bowlers for the stepladder finals, which is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET. The winner will earn a major championship title and the $15,000 first-place check. Catch the final day at the World Championship only on BowlTV.
