Kyle Sherman Named Lead Color Analyst for PBA on CW Tour
As the PBA Tour enters a new broadcasting era with The CW, Kyle Sherman has been named the lead color analyst for PBA on CW Tour broadcasts.
“Excited isn’t even the word,” Sherman said. “As someone who loves bowling and high-level competition, I want the professional game to be the best it can possibly be. I'm going to do my best to showcase the game and our players.”
Sherman will team up with play-by-play commentator Rick Allen, a sports broadcasting veteran of more than two decades. Allen held the lead play-by-play role for NBC’s NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series coverage from 2015-2024.
“Rick is a true professional,” Sherman said. “He’s been doing this for a very long time. We got to spend some time together and the more we talked, the more he saw how much there is to learn about bowling. I can see the exuberance on his face. He’s excited about bowling. We even got him his own bowling ball!”
Sherman and Allen’s debut in the 2026 PBA Tour season-opening tournament will crown a major champion. The PBA Players Championship airs live Sunday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. Eastern on The CW.
Sherman is a two-time PBA Tour champion and former member of Team USA. He will continue to be a full-time player on the 2026 PBA Tour.
The 31-year-old’s experience competing during the tour season will allow him to provide fans unparalleled insight into the life of a modern PBA Tour player. Sherman possesses a strong understanding of modern equipment, strategies and technique, as well as a unique viewpoint of the mentalities of the world’s top bowlers.
Sherman said stepping into the lead color commentary role reminds him of why he and tour roommate Brad Miller started their popular YouTube channel, Brad and Kyle, back in 2017.
“I want to tell more stories about the players,” Sherman said. “I’ve been bowling against these guys for a long time. I can provide really good insight into the week [leading up to the show] and different perspectives on players you don’t get to see from the outside.”
Sherman will step into the massive void left by Randy Pedersen, a PBA Hall of Famer who had been the lead color analyst for the PBA Tour since 2001. Pedersen’s 26-year tenure marks the longest in PBA history.
“I’ve always had a great relationship with Randy and I’ve had tremendous respect for him,” Sherman said. “For how long he did it, I can't even try to think of filling his shoes. Replacing a legend like Randy, the voice of the PBA for 25 years, you can’t. Doing the best version of what I can do is all I can focus on.”
The first broadcast will be the PBA Players Championship on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. Eastern on The CW.
