Eight PBA Regional Tour events added for 2025 season at centers featuring QubicaAMF’s EDGE String pinspotter technology

Following successful test events at four bowling centers featuring EDGE String Pinspotter technology, the PBA compared scoring and pinfall data from events utilizing traditional free-fall and EDGE String machines.

In November 2024, the PBA concluded that USBC-approved QubicaAMF EDGE String pinspotters are acceptable for professional-level competition, opening the door to broaden integration of pinspotting technology in sanctioned PBA play.

Earlier this season, the PBA Tour’s top stars competed in the PBA All-Star Weekend Powered by QubicaAMF’s EDGE String pinspotter at Foxx View Lanes.

EJ Tackett, the two-time reigning PBA Player of the Year, won the PBA Strike Derby and led the one-handed team to victory against the two-handers.

Tackett also won one of the test events on QubicaAMF EDGE String pinspotters during the 2024 season.

As a result of the PBA’s findings, each of those champions have been retroactively awarded official PBA Regional Tour titles:

  • Walter Ray Williams Jr. — PBA50 Lehigh Lanes Open
  • Gabe Alvarez — PBA Jack Jones Memorial Open
  • Kyle Troup — PBA Family Ford of Bluffton/Yergy's BBQ/EZ Bowl Central Open
  • EJ Tackett — PBA Foxx View Lanes Open

This season, nine more PBA Regional Tour events will be contested at centers with QubicaAMF EDGE String pinspotters, including events at EZ Bowl and Foxx View Lanes.
