Parker Bohn III averages 257 on Day 1 at the Senior Masters
Las Vegas, Nevada – A-squad set the early scoring tone during the first day of qualifying in the 2025 USBC Senior Masters on Tuesday, then a couple of C-squad bowlers soared their way to the top of the standings. After the first two squads, Patrick Shipley of Indianapolis led the way with 275, 253, 222, 197 and 280 for 1,227, averaging 245.40.
But then Parker Bohn III stepped on the lanes with C-squad at Sam’s Town Bowling Center. Bohn III filled 50 clean frames with games of 259, 236, 267, 244 and 279 for 1,285, averaging a scorching 257. Only one of his shots resulted in less than a 9-count and that was a split he converted.
Just behind him is fellow C-squad bowler Brian Dennis with +257. Dennis, from Demorest, Ga., shot the first of three perfect games in his squad. He had 227, 300, 205, 278 and 247 for 1,257. Tom Adcock and Ross Krumland also rolled a 300. In fourth behind Shipley are two A-squad bowlers: Steve Kloempken at +226 and John Janawicz at +220 in fifth place.
Nine players averaged 240 or higher, including Christopher Keane, of Cape Coral, Fla. He led B-squad finishing strong with 19 straight strikes at one point shooting 279 and 269 for 1,207. Defending champion Jon Rakoski, who is guaranteed a spot in the top 64 after qualifying, is currently in 140th place at +59.
