Troy Lint Leads PBA50 Hamtramck Singles Classic
Westland, Michigan – While talking in the paddock to Parker Bohn III after bowling Tuesday in the 2025 PBA50 Hamtramck Singles Classic, Troy Lint mentioned his final game of the seven-game block was 278. Bohn III responded, ‘Oh, you passed me,” and Lint humbly replied, “I guess.”
“I was following Parker. He had such a tremendous lead that I was trying to catch him the whole time. The last game I happened to pop 278 to go around him,” Lint said. “He is the guy you chase. He is the best and that is why you chase Parker.”
In addition to his 278, Lint shot 205, 214, 263, 278, 249 and 244 for +331. He averaged 247.29 using the same black urethane ball. He only had to make slight adjustments while moving across the center inside Vision Lanes.
“The first two games I bowled just as good as the last five, I just couldn’t get the ball to go through the pocket,” the lefty said. “I made little hand adjustments and eyesight adjustments to read the lane a little sooner. My strike percentage went up and everything was on par.”
This is Lint’s sixth tournament back on tour, since recovering from multiple surgeries. He feels great and he plans to keep working hard to put himself in a great position on the leaderboard. Bohn III posted 223, 244, 278, 266, 278, 228 and 206 for 1,723. He is eight pins behind Lint in second place. One pin behind Bohn III in third is Tony Oliva at +322, followed by John Janawicz at +306 in fourth and Tom Daugherty is fifth at +300. The top six bowlers were all on B-squad.
Dan Knowlton led A-squad at +298. He is currently tied with Randy Weiss. Knowlton rolled games of 277, 258, 221, 257, 256, 235 and 194 for +298. Even though this was the 36-foot Ballard oil pattern, he felt the pattern played quite a bit different than in the Ballard Championship at the World Series of Bowling.
Knowlton was also able to use urethane for all seven games. When asked how he would grade his season, he gave it a B+ thinking this might be the most consistent year he has had yet.
“I feels like I have been pretty close to winning all year long. I was holding on tight early in qualifying before putting it together toward the end of tournaments. It’s nice to get score Day 1 instead of bowling from behind,” he said. “I stumbled on something at the World Series of Bowling. My axis rotation has been inconsistent but I’m focusing on my rotation and it’s going in the direction I want.”
Qualifying will continue on Wednesday with seven more games to determine the top 32 players who will move into the advancers round. B-squad will be on the lanes at 9 a.m. Eastern followed by A-squad at 3 p.m. on BowlTV.
