
PBA Hall of Famer Wayne Zahn Dies at 84

Wayne Zahn, a PBA and USBC Hall of Famer, died on Aug. 20 at the age of 84.
Zahn won 13 PBA Tour titles with three major championships in his career. He earned PBA Player of the Year honors in 1966.
The Milwaukee native’s last win came in the 1976 Showboat Invitational, where he defeated Earl Anthony in the title match.
At just 40 years old, Zahn was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame in 1981.
His USBC Hall of Fame in the previous year made the youngest competitor to earn that honor at the time of his induction.
As part of the PBA’s 50th anniversary celebration, Zahn was voted the 31st greatest bowler of all time in 2009.
Zahn spent his final years with his family in Tempe, Ariz.
