Tour Trials to Award 12 Exempt Spots for 2025 PBA Tour
A 48-game qualifier in August will determine the final 12 exempt players for the 2025 PBA Tour
The top 43 players in competition points during the 2024 season will earn exempt status (priority entry) for all 2025 PBA Tour events and become eligible for the PBA Elite League draft.
Additionally, a dozen exempt spots for the 2025 PBA Tour will be awarded at the PBA Tour Trials, which will be held Aug. 19-23, 2024 in the Chicago-land area.
In 2025, tournament entry fees will be free for the 55 players with exempt status. PBA Tour champions from the past 10 years will be able to enter the main field but will pay the standard entry fee.
Players will bowl 48 games across four oil patterns in four different Chicago-area centers. The top 12 finishers will earn exempt status for 2025.
The field size for this single-squad event will be 90 players, the first 80 of which will be filled using the following priority order:
- Players who finished 44-100th in 2024 competition points
- Players who finished top 10 in points in their respective PBA Regional Tour
- Top 25 collegiate players (based on average) exiting college for PBA membership
- New international players
- Players who finished top 25 in points in their respective PBA Regional Tour
- Any full PBA member (prioritized by date/time of entry)
Entries will open for players meeting first priority criteria May 6. For all other priority levels, entries will open June 3. Players must be a PBA member to enter.
Entries will close on June 30 with roster confirmation being finalized July 17.
The final 10 spots in the Tour Trials field will be filled via the Tour Trials Pre-Tournament Qualifier, which will include two six-game qualifying rounds. The PTQ will be held Aug. 19.
