Las Vegas, Nevada – Less than three weeks ago Amleto Monacelli turned 60 to become eligible to compete at 2021 USBC Super Senior Classic. He is now one win away from winning his first Super Senior Title.

Sunday began with the Cashers’ Round and after six-games Monacelli took over the tournament lead by just 3-pins over his current roommate, Glenn Smith. The top 12 players in the field were then split into two groups, A and B for six-games of round-robin match play.

Monacelli posted a record of 4-2 and a total pinfall of 5,624 to earn the top overall seed in the stepladder finals at Sam’s Town Bowling Center, while Smith is the second seed overall with a 24-game total pinfall of 5,480. They both automatically advance to the stepladder finals on Monday.

Walter Ray Williams Jr. posted a 5-1 record in Group A to earn the next highest score in the group behind Monacelli to become the No. 1 seed in the group stepladder. He will bowl the winner of the first match between 2019 USBC Super Senior Classic runner-up Hugh Miller and Michael Karch.

As for Group B, Ron Mohr and Darryl Bower will be in the first group stepladder match with the winner set to face Widmar Vargas.

The group stepladder finals will begin at noon EST Monday with each group winner advancing to the stepladder finals starting at 2 p.m. Eastern live on BowlTV.com.
