Round-robin match play streams live on FloBowling tomorrow beginning at noon ET

 

Tampa, Fla.—After 40 games of qualifying, 13-time PBA Tour champion EJ Tackett leads 16 players into Guaranteed Rate PBA World Championship match play. Tackett, averaging 225, has been the World Championship leader at the end of all four days of World Series of Bowling XII action and holds a 442-pin lead over sixth place. The top five players after 16 games of match play qualify for the stepladder finals, airing live on FOX Broadcast Channel Saturday, Mar. 13 at 2 p.m. ET.

Tackett, who won the PBA World Championship in 2016, is one of seven major champions to qualify for match play, including Walter Ray Williams Jr., the all-time record holder with 47 PBA Tour titles. The 61-year-old PBA Hall of Famer and eight-time major champion, including three World Championship titles, qualified ninth with a 212 average.

Two-time PBA Tour champion Tom Daugherty qualified second, 45 pins behind Tackett and 149 pins ahead of third-place Jakob Butturff.
