Mooresville, NC – The first ever PBA Jr. Regional tournament in the South was a success seeing three winners across three youth divisions at Victory Lanes in Mooresville, N.C. Tyshaun Baxter, Jillian Martin, and Brandon Bohn captured the U15 Mixed, U18 Girls, and U18 Boys Divisions, respectively.

U15 Mixed: Tyshaun Baxter of Thomasville, N.C. who qualified as the fourth seed in the four-person stepladder finals, climbed the ladder, defeating number one seed Nathan Thesier by one pin, 166-165, to win the title in the U15 Mixed division. Baxter added $1100 to his SMART Fund account. In the first stepladder match, Baxter defeated Brandon McRoy of Greenville, N.C., 174-149, then defeated the second seed, Elijah McClain of Statesville, N.C., 209-191.

U18 Girls: Jillian Martin of Stow, Ohio, defeated Annalise Obryant of Ball Ground, Ga., 208-162 to win the U18 Girls division and added $1000 scholarship funds to her SMART account. Martin, who earned the third seed in the stepladder finals, won her first match 187-161, against Kayla Starr of Crofton, Md. and the semifinal match, 177-155, against Kaytlen Peck of Fort Lawn, S.C.

U18 Boys: Brandon Bohn of Jackson, N.J., defeated James Bennett of Huntingtown, Md., 266-219 to win the U18 Boys division and earned the $1300 SMART Fund Scholarship. Brandon who qualified for the stepladder finals in the second seed defeated Aaron Perry of Wake Forest, N.C. in the semifinal match 246-175. In the opening match Perry defeated Harrison Martin of Charlotte, N.C. 158-123.

The next PBA Jr. South Region event is the PBA Jr. Bowlero Williamsburg Regional in Williamsburg, Va. August 14 – Aug. 15, 2021.
