Lee’s Summit, Mo. – After a second place finish in Peru, Ill. and a third place finish in Lockport, Ill., Nick Kruml of Downers Grove, Ill., claimed a first place victory, winning the PBA St. Charles Lanes Midwest Open.

The pressure was put on Kruml in the position round with three bowlers within seven pins of each other. Kruml, needed a double and eight pins to surpass Kevin McCune of Munster Ind.’s 220 and did just that.

Kruml earned $3,200 for first-place and McCune collected $1,900 for second. Mykel Holliman of Collierville, Tenn. took $1,250 for third, who moved up from 10th to third place in match play. Chris Hill, who won the PBA Celest Walker Midwest/Central Open in May rounded out the top four, taking home $1,000.

The PBA Midwest Region hosts the Spare Time Lanes Open at Spare Time Lanes in Decatur, Ill. this weekend on July 9 – 11, 2021, followed by the PBA/PBA50 doubles at Town and Country Lanes in Joliet, Ill. on July 16 – 18, 2021; this event combines one bowler aged 50 and above with one bowler under the age of 50.
