Spring Hill, Fla. – Kenneth Ryan of Maitland, Fla., defeated Sean Riccardi of St. Petersburg, Fla., 223-200, to win the 32nd annual PBA Spring Hill Open for his very first PBA Regional title on Sunday at Spring Hills Lanes.

Ryan who qualified in second position for the four-man stepladder finals with a 17-game total of 3,688 pins, just nine pins behind the leader, Riccardi, with 3,697, won two games to claim the title.

In the opening match, Sean Wilcox of Altamonte Springs, Fla., defeated Colin Champion of Spring Hill, Fla. 207-181. Wilcox then lost to Ryan 204-192, who advanced to the championship match.

In the title match, Ryan took an early lead with a four bagger in frames four through seven. Riccardi struggled to put more than a double together in frames seven and eight, costing him the match.

Ryan earned $3,700 for the first-place prize, Riccardi $2,000 for second, Wilcox $1,750 for third, and Champion earned $1,500 for fourth.

The PBA South Region’s next event will be the PBA50 Jeff Schrum Memorial RPI South Open on July 16-18th at Liberty Lanes in Gastonia, N.C.
