Major champions occupy the top seven spots, Shawn Maldonado rolls perfect 300 game to make the cut

 

Jupiter, Fla.—Tom Smallwood led all four rounds of qualifying of the 2021 Kia PBA Tournament of Champions and will enter match play as the top seed. With a 244 average over 24 games, Smallwood is 118 pins ahead of second place, which is held by three-time Tournament of Champions winner Jason Belmonte.

Defending champion Kris Prather is in third, with major champions Anthony Simonsen, Jesper Svensson, Sean Rash and Kyle Troup filling out the top seven.

In the final game of qualifying, Shawn Maldonado, who was in 35th place, bowled a perfect 300 game to jump inside the cut, qualifying 23rd for match play.

Match play begins tomorrow at noon ET on FloBowling with the top 24 players competing in the first of four six-game blocks. Round 2 begins at 6 p.m. ET and the final two rounds take place Friday, Feb. 26. To subscribe, visit FloBowling.com.
