Tom Smallwood Leads Kia PBA Tournament of Champions Through First Day of Qualifying
Jupiter, Fla.—Three-time PBA Tour champion Tom Smallwood leads all players through the first two rounds of qualifying in the Kia PBA Tournament of Champions. After the first six-game block, Smallwood led defending champion Kris Prather by 68 pins. By the end of the second six-game block, Smallwood increased his lead to 211 pins ahead of second place.
2021 PBA Players Championship winner Kyle Troup opened qualifying with 19 consecutive strikes, rolling a 300 in the first game and the first seven strikes in game two. Troup bowled a second 300 game in round two and sits in third place. Prather, Belmonte and Andrew Anderson also posted a perfect game during the first two rounds.
Qualifying concludes tomorrow with rounds three and four streaming live starting at 11 a.m. ET on FloBowling. The top 24 players after all 24 qualifying games advance to match play beginning Thursday, Feb. 25. To subscribe, visit FloBowling.com.
