Guaranteed Rate PBA Super Slam Player Spotlight: François Lavoie
François Lavoie earned his spot in the Guaranteed Rate PBA Super Slam by winning the Kia PBA Tournament of Champions in February.
Entering the stepladder finals as the fifth seed, Lavoie defeated Sean Rash, Jesper Svensson, Jason Belmonte and ultimately Anthony Simonsen to earn $100,000 as the winner of the PBA Tournament of Champions. It was Lavoie’s fifth career title and third major.
Lavoie also finished third in the PBA Players Championship to open the season and ranks fourth in PBA Playoffs points on the strength of his two top-five finishes in majors this season.
The Guaranteed Rate PBA Super Slam, a special event paying $100,000 to the winner, will feature all five major champions from the 2021 Guaranteed Rate PBA Tour season bowling a single game to determine seeding. The player with the lowest score will be eliminated and the four surviving players will be seeded into the semifinals.
