PBA competitors will compete in a series of 2-game bracket elimination matches leading up to a best-of-five-games final round to determine the Kia PBA Playoffs champion. Ties will be broken by a 9th and 10th frame roll-off. If players are still tied after a 9th and 10 frame roll-off, the PBA one ball roll-off rule will be used to break the tie. Higher seeds will have bowling order and lane choice in all cases of ties.

The 2021 Kia PBA Playoffs is an invitational event made up of the top 16 PBA players of the 2021 Guaranteed Rate PBA Tour. The 16 players are invited based on 2021 points accumulated during the PBA Players Championship, Kia PBA Tournament of Champions, the PBA World Series of Bowling (five events), the USBC Masters and U.S. Open.
Players eliminated in the Round of 16: $5,000
Players eliminated in the Quarter Finals: $10,000
Players eliminated in the Semifinals: $24,000
2nd Place Finisher: $60,000
Kia PBA Playoffs Champion: $100,000
Note: Kia PBA Playoffs seeding will be determined according to point standings of the Guaranteed Rate PBA Tour at the completion of the 2021 BPAA U.S. Open.
