Professional bowler Marshall Holman rediscovered his love affair with Texas after being outof the winner's circle for nearly two and one-half years. The fiery pro bowled superbly all week, and then, as the leading qualifier, upended Del Ballard Jr., 234-194, to win the $110,000 Aqua Feet/Mr. Gatti's Open. Holman also had won the Quaker State Open and the BPAA U.S. Open in Texas, in 1981. Ballard first eliminated Joe Berardi, 233-212, and then ousted 1982 Austin runnerup Mike Aulby, 215-197. That brought up Joe Salvemini, and Ballard finished him oft, 217-187, to earn a shot at Holman and the :15,000 first prize.
