Marshall Holman didn't expect a 181 in the championship match to be enough to win the $100,000 King Louie Open in Kansas City, but when it was he offered no apologies. "I don't care if I score one and my opponent scores zero as long as I'm on top;" said Holman after collecting the $13,000 first prize and his third championship of the year. Holman defeated Wayne Webb, 181-168, in the title game after Webb had worked his way up from fourth place with a 633 series for his first three games. Holman had amassed a 397-pin first-place margin, strengthened by a 20-4 match play record, going into the championship round.
