Larry Laub joined select company among PBA champions by winning the $60,000 Buffalo Open for his 10th title in a 14-year career. Only 18 players have won as many as 10 titles. Laub took the lead after the first game of the final session and never let up. He won his next six matches and took an 84-pin lead into the final match against Pete McCordic. Even though McCordic won the match, Laub wound up with a 25-pin margin of victory. Laub's last previous title came in the 1976 Hawaiian Invitational. 42-GAME TOTALS | | | Name, City | | Pins | | Avg | | WLT | | + | | Tot | | Amt | | | 1 | | Larry Laub, San Francisco | | 8923 | | 212.4 | | 15-8-1 | | 465 | | 9388 | | $6,000 | | 2 | | Pete McCordic, Houston | | 8883 | | 211.5 | | 16-8-0 | | 480 | | 9363 | | 3,500 | | 3 | | John Denton, Midland, Texas | | 8807 | | 209.6 | | 18-6-0 | | 540 | | 9347 | | 3,000 | | 4 | | Tommy Hudson, Akron, Ohio | | 8810 | | 209.7 | | 17-7-0 | | 510 | | 9320 | | 2,500 | | 5 | | Ed Ressler, Jr., Allentown, Pa. | | 8937 | | 212.7 | | 12-12-0 | | 360 | | 9297 | | 2,000 | | 6 | | Palmer Fallgren, Sacramento | | 8869 | | 211.1 | | 12-11-1 | | 375 | | 9244 | | 1,800 | | 7 | | Mark Roth, North Arlington, N.J. | | 8847 | | 210.6 | | 13-11-0 | | 390 | | 9237 | | 1,700 | | 8 | | Jimmy Certain, Huntsville, Ala. | | 8798 | | 209.4 | | 13-11-0 | | 390 | | 9188 | | 1,600 | | 9 | | Craig Cutsor, Whittier, Calif. | | 8791 | | 209.3 | | 13-11-0 | | 390 | | 9181 | | 1,550 | | 10 | | Joe Berardi, New York City | | 8732 | | 207.9 | | 13-11-0 | | 390 | | 9122 | | 1,500 | | 11 | | Bob Fenton, Cucamonga, Calif. | | 8750 | | 208.3 | | 12-12-0 | | 360 | | 9110 | | 1,450 | | 12 | | Wayne Webb, Rehoboth, Mass. | | 8635 | | 205.5 | | 15-9-0 | | 450 | | 9085 | | 1,400 | | 13 | | Roy Buckley, Columbus, Ohio | | 8694 | | 207.0 | | 11-13-0 | | 330 | | 9024 | | 1,350 | | 14 | | Bill Coleman, Campbell, Calif. | | 8649 | | 205.9 | | 12-12-0 | | 360 | | 9009 | | 1,300 | | @15 | | Mike Hanes, Buffalo, N.Y. | | 8609 | | 204.9 | | 10-13-1 | | 315 | | 8924 | | 1,250 | | 16 | | S.
