Steve Westberg shot a 299 with five games remaining and went on to win the $60,000 Amarillo Open, his third title in a year.

Westberg trailed leader Larry Laub until that 299 - he left a seven pin - and from there on, he widened his lead after every game until he finished with ,a 325-pin margin.

Mike Durbin finished second, followed by Laub, Pete McCordic and Jeff Mattingly.
