Berlin "Buzzes" Foes

Second-year pro Mike Berlin captured his third tour victory of the year when he ran away from Don Bell in the final round of the $60,000 Buzz Fazio Open.

Berlin, who won $6,000, started the final session of match play with a slim lead over Bell, the former world-class soccer player seeking his initial tour victory.

But Berlin defeated Bell, 209-182, in the opening game of match play and never looked back as he finished with a 128-pin victory over Bell.

Berlin's victory capped a remarkable comeback as he qualified for the match play finals in 23rd place. Perfect games were rolled by Pat Malone, Dennis Swayda, Roy Buckley and Ed Ressler.
