The superb effort put forth by Earl Anthony continued unabated at Cedar Lanes as he won the $47,000 Fresno Open for his second straight win and fourth in sic tournaments. Anthony's closest competitor was Dave Davis as he piled up a more-than-200-pin margin over the rest of the field in waltzing to his 11th victory since re-joining the tour in 1970. There were three perfect games. Anthony had one, had another thrown against him by Paul Kreins, and little Marty Piraino had the third.
