Randy Pedersen powered past three players, Including top-seeded Parker Bohn III, 258-247, for the $150,000 AC-Delco Classic at Gable House Bowl. Pedersen, Santa Maria, Calif., became the first two-time winner in the seventh renewal of the AC-Delco Classic, and pocketed $27,000 for his fifth PBA title. Both championship finalists opened with doubles and Pedersen went on to extend his string to six, while Bohn spared twice, struck and spa red again to trail by 42 pins through six frames. "Even though I had a big lead l knew Parker would keep on striking," Pedersen said. And Bohn didn't fail to live up to his Southern California opponent's prediction, out striking Pedersen, 9-8, in their match. Bohn closed with a six-bagger, forcing Pedersen to mark in his 10th frame for the victory. The likable Pedersen answered with a good shot, but stranded the 10-pin. He took a little extra time to compose himself and covered the spare, then tacked on a game-ending strike in the midst of a celebration by some very vocal hometown friends seated directly behind him.
