Pappas came charging onto the Tour from the South to almost instant acclaim and success. He captured the Miller High life Open and Buffalo Open on the 1970 Winter Tour and was one of the PBA's shining stars for years. The righthander had a classic swing and stroke, recording the biggest triumph of his career when he captured the 1979 Firestone Tournament of Champions, leading the rich and prestigious event from the opening round to its conclusion. The 10-time PBA Tour titlist served many years as Chairman of the PBA's Tournament Committee and served two terms as PBA President. Also owns two PBA50 Tour titles and won a Senior Regional title in 2011 to become one of seven players to win a PBA title in five different decades.
