"G Man" Beats Columbus Foes
It was the "G" Man all the way in the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) $27,500 Columbus, Ohio Open.
Billy Golembiewski won 13 of his 16 games in the finals to pile up a 447-pin margin over another Detroiter, Dave Soutar, to capture the $3,000 first-place check.
G's winning total read 9884. This included 650 bonus pins.
Ray Bluth and Carmen Salvino added spice to the highly successful tournament with 300 games. It was Bluth's second perfect game in as many weeks and third of the year. The veteran St. Louis kegler now has nine "big" games in his career.
