Hess Stays Hot at 2021 USBC Senior Masters
Las Vegas, Nevada – Once again Tom Hess took to the lanes at Sam’s Town Bowling Center and looked like he owned them.
The righty had 246, 220, 202, 268 and 264 for 1,200 to give him a 15-game total pinfall of 3,543. He increased his lead to 122-pins over 2nd place.
The Iowa native continues to stay hot as he looks to end his PBA50 rookie season with another career major title.
Throughout three-days of qualifying, Walt Blackston has been just behind Hess. He finished qualifying with 3,421, an average of 228.07.
The first and only perfect game rolled so far was by Chris Warren in his third game on Thursday. He ended his block with 1,169 to climb into 3rd place with 3,351.
Two lefties round out the top five with Parker Bohn III in 4th with 3,343 and Jason Couch moved into 5th with 3,301.
After the completion of 15-games of qualifying, the field was cut to the top 64. The final bowlers in are Jay Hess and Kevin Anderson at 3,000, an average of 200. The 2019 USBC Senior Masters champion Amleto Monacelli is in 19th.
Double-elimination match play begins at noon EST Friday with the left side of the bracket followed by the right side of the bracket starting at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. These will be three-game total pinfall matches. You can watch it all live on BowlTV.com.
