Wayne Webb's victory in the $150,000 Lite Beer Championship at Red Carpet Celebrity Lanes was anything but easy. Webb won four games to capture the 20th anniversary of Miller Brewing's tournament in Milwaukee, but he had to go to the final ball to nip Marshall Holman, 198-192, for the $27,000 first prize. Holman, the tournament leader, had put the monkey on Webb's back by rallying from a 31-pin deficit in the third frame. Webb, who totaled, 700 in his first three winning games, saw his lead dwindle when he left a 4-6-7 split in the sixth frame and needed a mark and good count for the victory. Webb finally did it, also collecting his 15th PBA title, 11 of them in the last 10 years. Webb seeded fourth, first ousted Jeff Bellinger, 215-194, and Mark Baker, 257-233. Five late strikes by Webb then nailed a 226-186 victory over Mike Aulby, and Webb found himself arrayed against Holman in a replay of the '85 BPAA U.S. Open finals in Venice, Fla., which Holman won.
