Mike Aulby continued to terrorize the PBA Fall Tour, winning his second title in four weeks after downing Gary Skidmore, 253-241, in the $150,000 Brunswick Memorial World Open. The 25-year-old Aulby, who won his hometown Indianapolis tournament and finished second and 13th in the three previous events, stopped Marshall Holman 241-212, in the semifinal game before falling behind by 20 pins on the strength of an opening four-bagger by top-seeded Skidmore. Aulby came back with seven straight strikes to record a high-scoring victory for the $27,000 top prize and his sixth PBA championship. The southpaw pushed his earnings for the year past $110,000. In the first two matches, Mark Roth topped Bob Learn Jr., 246-201, before being overwhelmed by Holman, 280-214.
