Cook Finds Polychemical Recipe

It was David against Goliath and in this case Goliath won.

Steve Cook, who measures in at 6'6", 250 lbs., crushed his 5'4" opponent Paul Moser, 269-180, in the championship game to win the $90,000 U.S. Polychemical Open in Fresno, Calif.

Moser had beaten PBA superstars Earl Anthony (in a two-frame roll-off) and Mark Roth to get the opportunity to face Cook but had to settle for his fifth career second-place finish when the 23-year-old top-seed let loose with a string of strikes that was not stopped until leaving a 7-pin in the ninth frame.

Cook earned $11,000 for his second PBA crown.
