Fred Jaskie gave the home-town fans something to cheer about when he won his first PBA championship in the $100,000 Miller High-Life Open at Red Carpet Celebrity Lanes in Milwaukee. Jaskie, from nearby Greendale, Wis., led or was second after every round. He qualified for the TV finals in the No. 1 position and waited until fourth-seeded Marshall Holman moved up the ladder for the championship game. Holman, apparently out of gas after rolling games of 244, 279 and 223 in the early matches, was no competition for the steady Jaskie, who wound up with a safe 208-158 victory.
