Davis, a 17-time PBA champion, averaged 235 for the 42-game test leading tip to the TV finals and then defeated Earl Anthony, 235-186, in the championship game.

Anthony, seeded fourth, defeated John Denton, 255-202, Nelson Burton Jr., 200-198, and Gary Patterson, 268-199, to advance into the final match.

"I felt just great out there today," Davis said. "I felt loose and confident all day."
