Moser Dwarfs Foes

Diminutive Paul Moser, a 5-foot, 4-inch package of determination and desire, waltzed to an easy victory in the $60,000 Syracuse Open.

It was Moser's second career victory. His first came when he won the 1976 BPAA U.S. Open.

In third place after the first round of qualifying, Moser shot to the top of the field following the next round and continued to pull away from the field after each ensuing round. He finished with a commanding 379-pin margin over Johnny Petraglia while George LeCain, Moser's roommate, finished third.

Moser earned $6,000 for the victory.
