Five years of perseverance finally paid off for Dennis Lane when he won the $60,000 Portland Open, opening stop on the Summer Tour. Going into the position round Hudson trailed Lane by 52 pins and needed a 23-pin victory, coupled with the 30 bonus pins, to take the $6,000 top prize.
