Texan John Denton outdueled Mike Samardzija in the title game to win the $70,000 Toledo Open for his first tour victory.

Denton's opening match was against Steve Jones, who brushed aside his first two opponents with scores of 257 and 279, and Denton emerged the winner by a 233-213 score.

In the title match. Denton grabbed the lead in the third frame and never faltered as he posted a 204-198 victory for the $7.500 first prize.
