Dick Ritger's fear that he was over the hill evaporated when the veteran bested Pete Couture to win the $100,000 AMF Pro Classic. The victory worth $14,000, enabled Ritger to snap a two-year victory drought. "I've been down for so long that I really had doubts about ever winning again," said Ritger after capturing his 18th tour victory. Couture failed to strike until the sixth frame of the finale, while Ritger struck from the second through fifth frames and coasted to a 227-196 triumph.
