Gonzalez Hits A Gusher

Henry Gonzalez, a veteran of only 12 pro tournaments, brushed aside three foes to capture the inaugural $90,000 Quaker State Open for his first title.

Rolling an astounding 771 three-game series, Gonzalez scored victories over Marshall Holman, Tommy Hudson and top-seeded Norm Myers to walk off with the $10,000 first prize.

Gonzalez's performance was almost flawless as he fired 27 strikes in 36 shots.

Dale Glenn, Eddie Ressler and Holman had 300 games during qualifying.
