Professional bowler Dave Frame's 31st birthday present, in the form of his first PBA title, arrived when he won the $60,000 Buffalo Open by defeating fellow Californian Bobby Fenton, 207-197.

It was an elated Frame who faced newsmen minutes after the victory. "It was my worst game all week," he declared, referring to the title game with Fenton. "I was changing my line and doing everything wrong. Bobby (Fenton) outbowled me, but he just simply got rapped to death," Frame said.
