Hudson Rambles

Tommy Hudson crashed through to his second Professional Bowlers Association crown when he swamped four straight opponents in the finale of the $50,000 Home Box Office Open Bowling Tournament in Buffalo.

With a packed house looking on, as well as a television audience in the East, the handsome 27-year-old righthander put the icing on his all-winning effort with a clutch 238-234 victory over Gary Dickinson, Ft. Worth, Texas.

Dickinson had gone into the finale top-seeded after winning 15 match games and averaging 231 over three days of competition. But, he fell before an onslaught of strikes poured through by Hudson, who shot games of 228, 232, 244, 238 for a 942 total.
