Moore The Merrier

Louie Moore, a 23-year-old from Columbus, Ohio, who never had won a Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) title, withstood a strong rush by Nelson Burton Jr., St. Louis, Mo., to win the $85,000 Ebonite Open.

Burton, who has won 12 PBA championships and who knows the pressure of championship battles, had mowed down three opponents before running into the determined Moore, who emerged victor, 226-190.
