Piraino's No's 299 Wins At Waukegan

Marty Piraino, a 50-year-young pro, endeared himself to professional bowling fans in the Greater Chicago area as he uncorked a 299 game to win the $55,000 Columbia 300 Open.

Piraino upset top-seeded Jay Robinson, to capture his fourth PBA title as Robinson could muster only a 195 in the face of Piraino's onslaught. Only a five pin on his last ball kept Piraino from joining the select group of bowlers who have rolled a 300 game before television cameras.
