Youthful Paul Colwell rolled to his third career victory as he won the $50,000 Starlanes-Ebonite Open.

Colwell was top-seeded into the championship game, and he rolled up a convincing 258-215 victory over Bill Johnson in the battle for the $5,000 first prize. Home Box Office carried the finals to parts of the East Coast.
